How do I know when I am in my mask?
Though it can be tricky to discern sometimes, here are just a few signs of being in your mask:
You feel like you are in a win/lose situation.
Your body feels tight.
You are having a very big emotional reaction.
You feel very strongly that you are right and someone else is wrong.
You feel like a victim.
You have someone to blame for whatever isn't going your way.
When you find yourself in your mask, take a breath and ask yourself, "What am I afraid of?"
You developed your mask to protect you from feelings the child in you couldn't cope with.
Use your positive intention to honor it and see if you can let it go.
